Released on March 28th, this is a heartfelt album with yearning vocals from Josiah Lemmon, the frontman for this L.A. based trio, “Josiah and the Bonnevilles.” This is a folky, rootsy lyrical wandering from the once American Idol participant. It’s been a couple years since the band released the EP “Cold Blood,” a harmonious salute to this release, that has paved the way for the spirited bit of Americana that the Bonnevilles are known to churn out.
Signed with Vagrant Records, this release is very much in step with “Cold Blood,” and their fans and listeners will not be disappointed. I feel like the album is more naked than the early work, masterfully isolating the witty lyrics and innocent vocals from Lemmon. There are still wonderful backing vocals and enough hooks and melody to keep you humming the songs throughout the day.
