Talking In My Sleep by JAYNE

Intimate, soulful and direct, I love the patience in Jayne’s flowing storytelling style. There is a under-the-radar emotionaly delivery that is captivating. Never overly embelished, her vocal style has a soulful cadence and attractive playfulness. The style is a bit melancholic, but not depressing, just a bit sad.

I was initially excited by her shared influences of Damien Rice and Jeff Buckley, not a bad duo if you ask me. There is that Buckley electric guitar inflection and one can definitely pull out the songwriting and delivery of Damien Rice in this tune. I think the waves that are present in the production keep me attentive, as the washing of the sea, there is a meditative and reflective sway that seems to be shared here.
